Conceived as an intimate coastal sanctuary where Japanese minimalist architecture harmoniously embraces Sri Lanka's tropical splendour and storied Ceylon warmth. In Japanese aesthetics, Kai-Yū embodies the poetic wandering through contemplative landscapes — a seamless journey where every corridor, garden alcove and ocean vista awakens a deep sense of serenity. When our founders discovered this sheltered headland overlooking Weligama Bay, they envisioned a sanctuary that would honour this philosophy while celebrating Sri Lanka's timeless architectural heritage.
Constructed from reclaimed Ceylon teak, hand-carved local granite and polished terrazzo, KAI-YŪ stands as a masterwork of tropical minimalism. Large open-air pavilions catch the gentle Indian Ocean breezes, blurring the boundary between indoor luxury and the swaying coconut groves outside. Every touchpoint of the villa experience has been curated to elevate tranquility, authenticity and bespoke indulgence.
